16 Hours on 5 Pills of Ibogaine: Tu Lam's Journey w/ Psychedelics

About this video

Ritland’s guest, a former Navy SEAL, recounts his spiritual journey through psychedelic medicine ceremonies in Mexico and beyond. He describes experiences with ibogaine, 5-MeO-DMT (toad venom), and huachuma (San Pedro cactus) facilitated by shamans and healers, explaining how these multi-day sessions surfaced childhood trauma from his refugee past and combat experiences. The guest attributes these ceremonies to clearing trapped energy, resetting his heart chakra, and ultimately leading to a vision of Jesus that began his search for God.

Key takeaways

• The guest describes ibogaine as a 16-hour experience that surfaces suppressed trauma stored in the nervous system, including childhood refugee experiences and combat memories he attributes to wartime killing
• According to the guest’s account, 5-MeO-DMT produced what he calls ’ego death’ - a sensation of physically dying that allowed release of deep emotional weight and brief mental clarity upon waking
• The guest recounts four years of huachuma ceremonies teaching breath work and energy release, culminating in a vision of Jesus that he credits with beginning his spiritual transformation, though he remained unsaved at that time
