Delta Force Operator Reveals Why the War in Iran Was Inevitable | Mike Drop Episode 244

About this video

Mike Ritland hosts former Delta Force operator Dale Comstock, who discusses his upcoming book about mercenary work in Yemen, reflects on his career spanning 35 years in special operations (from paratrooper to Green Beret to Delta to contractor), and shares his views on selection psychology, marriage challenges in the SOF community, consciousness, AI, and the mindset factors that enable success in elite military units. Comstock attributes his own success less to physical ability than to mental programming and discusses Delta’s psychological screening process.

Key takeaways

• Comstock recounts that Delta psychologists could predict with high accuracy which candidates would succeed based on mindset, though the specific traits remain closely guarded; he emphasizes success stems from mental programming, not just willpower or fitness
• Comstock describes the costs of special operations careers on family life, acknowledging multiple marriages and attributing relationship failures to prolonged absence and the job becoming one’s life, not personal shortcomings
• Comstock shares his belief that consciousness may transcend physical form, expressing interest in future technologies like mind uploading and speculating humans may be connected to extraterrestrial origins
