Delta Force Operator Who Led the Radisson Blu Hostage Rescue Breaks His Silence | Ep. 296

About this video

Mike Ritland interviews Kyle Morgan, a retired Army Green Beret and Delta Force operator who earned the Distinguished Service Cross for leading hostage rescue at the 2015 Radisson Blu Hotel terrorist attack in Mali. Morgan recounts his 20-year military career, his journey through addiction and moral injury, and his path to sobriety and Christian faith. He describes his experiences with ibogaine treatment, other therapeutic modalities, and how surrender to faith ultimately transformed his life and marriage.

Key takeaways

• Morgan attributes his recovery from addiction and post-traumatic stress to a combination of sobriety, ibogaine treatment, and surrendering his life to Christ, emphasizing that no single modality was a ‘magic pill’ but rather part of a holistic journey requiring intentional change.
• According to Morgan, ibogaine was most effective when he came off prescription medications in advance and entered treatment with clear intentions; he describes the experience as physically unpleasant but spiritually transformative, creating space for lasting behavioral change if filled with healthy practices.
• Morgan leads a weekly veteran fellowship and emphasizes that vulnerability, faith, and authentic consistency across all areas of life have been essential to his healing, crediting his wife Erica for modeling faith during his darkest periods and helping him rebuild their marriage.
