Evils of Hamas From the Frontlines in Gaza - IDF Special Forces Soldier | Mike Drop Episode 225

About this video

Mike Ritland interviews Doran Keidar, an Israeli Defense Forces veteran with over 20 years of service including Special Forces, who was among the first responders to the October 7th Gaza attacks. Keidar shares his personal account of that day, discusses parallels to 9/11, and describes Israel’s security landscape, weapon carry laws, and everyday preparedness protocols. The conversation covers Keidar’s background in executive protection, his EDC setup in Israel, and the nation’s restrictive gun culture despite manufacturing firearms for export.

Key takeaways

• Keidar recounts being one of the first IDF units to respond to the October 7th attacks, describing the event’s impact on Israel as comparable to 9/11’s effect on America
• According to Keidar, Israel has surprisingly restrictive gun laws and is not a gun culture nation despite manufacturing firearms for export; citizens face stringent licensing requirements and most don’t touch firearms until mandatory military service
• Keidar describes his personal EDC as a Glock 45 MOS with extended magazines carrying approximately 40 rounds total, plus trauma medical supplies (tourniquet, chest seal, gauze), explaining that carrying a knife is actually harder to justify legally than carrying a firearm in Israel
