Female Secret Service Agent talks Gendered Training with Evy Poumpouras | Mike Drop Clips #179

About this video

Former Secret Service agent Evy Poumpouras describes her training experience through the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) and Secret Service Academy. She recounts the rigorous physical and tactical training, including shooting, driving armored vehicles, and combat skills, emphasizing that instructors never disclosed run distances and grades were publicly posted. Poumpouras discusses competing at male physical standards despite different requirements for women, and argues that there should be one physical standard for all Secret Service agents based on job requirements.

Key takeaways

• Poumpouras explains that Secret Service training involved 3.5 months each at FLETC and the Secret Service Academy, covering tactical driving, shooting, combat training, and other skills without prior criminal justice education required
• Poumpouras recounts initially being unable to do a pull-up and working out twice daily to meet male physical standards, training alongside former Navy SEALs and Army Rangers to prove she belonged physically
• Poumpouras argues there should be one physical standard for all Secret Service agents regardless of gender, because if she can’t meet the same running or strength requirements as male counterparts, she couldn’t adequately protect the president or assist teammates
