Force Recon to Legacy FC Champion with Chad Robichaux | Mike Drop - Episode 80

About this video

Mike Ritland interviews Chad Robichaux, a 14-year Marine Force Recon veteran with eight deployments to Afghanistan under Joint Special Operations Task Force. Robichaux recounts his background in martial arts and MMA, shares his account of losing his stepbrother to violence at age 14 and how that drove him to fulfill their shared dream of entering special operations, and discusses his work with Mighty Oaks Foundation and Save Our Allies (which he recounts helped evacuate over 15,000 people from Afghanistan). The conversation covers Robichaux’s training path, Force Recon versus SEAL differences, and his faith-based worldview.

Key takeaways

• Robichaux attributes his drive to enter Force Recon to a promise he made with his stepbrother, who was killed at age 14; he recounts fulfilling that goal despite the loss
• According to Robichaux, the main current difference between Force Recon and Navy SEALs is mission scope—Force Recon returned to core reconnaissance missions after MARSOC formed in 2006, while SEALs retain broader direct action capabilities
• Robichaux describes co-founding Save Our Allies, an organization he says helped evacuate over 15,000 individuals during the 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal
