Heroes & Horses Ret. Navy SEAL Micah Fink - Part 1 | Mike Ritland Podcast Episode 136

About this video

Retired Navy SEAL Micah Fink discusses his philosophy on modern society, parenting, and veteran wellness with host Mike Ritland. Fink describes his unconventional approach to raising five homeschooled children in rural Montana, emphasizing truth-telling, self-reliance, and what he calls a ’thought revolution.’ He explains his 41-day Heroes and Horses program for veterans, which he created to address what he describes as a crisis affecting roughly 70% of the veteran community, and reflects on how his perspective on military service has evolved since his time as an SDV Team One operator and CIA contractor.

Key takeaways

• Fink argues that society needs a ’thought revolution’ rather than violent change, claiming that thoughts create conditions and that people are unknowingly creating their own negative experiences
• Fink’s Heroes and Horses program is a 41-day course involving no technology, cold exposure, meditation, horseback riding, and philosophical discussion designed to help veterans heal by awakening internal wisdom rather than receiving external information
• Fink estimates that approximately 70% of American veterans are in crisis, contradicting what he sees as misleading portrayals on social media, and he describes the state of the American veteran as ‘a total apocalypse’
