Torture Training at SERE School with Tier 1 British SBS Op Dean Stott | Mike Drop 203

About this video

Dean Stott, a former British SBS operator, recounts his experience at SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) school during SBS selection. Stott describes undergoing a 36-hour interrogation process, stress positions, and psychological manipulation tactics, noting he was interrogated by the same person three times across different courses. He explains that British doctrine limits exposure to interrogation training to twice per career, and discusses the survival and counterterrorism phases of selection, emphasizing that all training involved live fire from day one.

Key takeaways

• Stott recounts being interrogated three times during his military training (24 hours, 36 hours, and a simulated hostage scenario), which led to changes in the selection process since British doctrine limits interrogation training exposure to twice per career.
• Stott describes SERE interrogation techniques including stress positions, white noise, dogs, good cop/bad cop scenarios, and psychological manipulation, followed by debriefs with psychologists to analyze responses.
• Stott states that SBS selection training uses live fire from the first day through counterterrorism phases to eliminate complacency and maintain strict weapon safety discipline.
