Working White House Protection Detail with Secret Service Agent Evy Poumpouras | Mike Drop Clip #180

About this video

Former Secret Service agent Evy Poumpouras discusses her experiences protecting presidents in the White House, describing the security perimeters, how the residence provides some privacy for first families, and the role of White House butlers and uniform division officers. She recounts stories about alleged ghosts in the White House told to her by longtime butlers, her favorite spots including the flower shop, and clarifies that agents pay for their own food. Poumpouras also shares observations about Air Force One, noting it’s less glamorous than people expect.

Key takeaways

• Poumpouras explains that presidents are given privacy in the residence area, with security perimeters designed to allow families—especially young children—some normalcy
• White House butlers, some having served since the Johnson administration, told Poumpouras about ghost stories and paranormal experiences in the White House, which she found credible
• Secret Service agents pay for all their own food and drinks while on duty at the White House and aboard Air Force One, rather than taxpayers covering these costs
