I'm going to Cisco Live!!! - CiscoLIVE 2018 Orlando
About this video
In a short announcement, NetworkChuck says he is going to Cisco Live for the first time: he says he has asked every company he worked at for roughly the past six years to send him and has never been, and that this year Cisco asked him to come and look at their new products. He plans to vlog and record what he sees for viewers who cannot attend, post on Twitter and Instagram, hand out stickers to anyone who finds him, and take viewer questions for the Cisco engineers and other industry engineers he will meet there. His stated focus is the future of networking. He repeats his ‘become a unicorn’ advice: network engineers need to start learning programming alongside networking because software-defined networking (SDN) is here to stay. He points to Cisco DevNet as Cisco’s push to get network engineers programming, and to related ideas such as DevOps and netDevOps (network DevOps). He also notes, as an aside, that the customer appreciation event is renting out Universal Studios, home of the Harry Potter world, and that the event starts on Monday the 11th.
