I QUIT MY JOB TO TRAVEL - CCNA CCNP Success Story!!

NetworkChuck Technology Careers Career & Money

About this video

Chuck announces he quit his job — but immediately clarifies he got another one — so he can travel across America in an RV with his family of five, working fully remotely as a network engineer doing Cisco networking and voice. He says remote networking jobs first seemed like a unicorn: he applied, got no replies, and told recruiters contacting him — which he says happens six to seven times a day with a CCNA and experience — that he only wanted remote, until one recruiter said it could probably be arranged and interviews led to an offer from a company excited about his travel. He credits his CCNA, CCNP and network engineering career with making this possible, and links the adventure to letsjustgo.family. The larger lesson is to design your career for your life, not just for money: he says within five years he was making more money than he ever expected, yet realized the lifestyle was not his dream, that he had squashed a dream to travel and spend more time with family than coworkers. He urges viewers to picture their life in five and ten years first, then pursue certifications toward it, points to Michael Hyatt’s book, and announces a giveaway of a CCNP training package worth about $500 in his next video.
