WTF is "Short King Spring"? Are Women Now Going For Shorter Men?

About this video

Centeno analyzes the ‘Short King Spring’ TikTok trend suggesting women are becoming more open to dating shorter men. He examines celebrity examples, real-world dating experiences, and statistics about height preferences in online dating, while discussing whether this trend represents a genuine shift in dating preferences or merely temporary social media phenomenon.

Key takeaways

• Centeno argues that removing arbitrary height filters in dating expands the pool of viable partners and helps people discover good options they might otherwise miss
• Centeno contends that online dating statistics show women often set unrealistic height minimums that exclude most eligible men, with studies suggesting men under 5'9" have very low matching rates
• Centeno believes confidence and self-improvement are more impactful than height trends, citing examples of shorter men who successfully date taller women through strong confidence and taking care of themselves
• Centeno disagrees with comparisons between height preferences and body critiques, arguing height is largely immutable while body composition is something people can control through lifestyle choices
