Creating Interiors For KDP Using Google Slides

About this video

(Summarized from the Arabic caption track.) Beginner tutorial on creating KDP interiors with Google Slides instead of Photoshop. Starting in Google Drive (free to create an account, with paid storage after a limit — he notes he has used more than 175 GB), he creates a new Google Slides presentation, then sets File > Page Setup > Custom to 6 x 9 inches for the book size. The first slide is a ‘This book belongs to’ page: centered text with an underscore line underneath for the name, with an optional publisher name/imprint line at the bottom. The next slide is left blank, and instead of making every page manually he selects slides and repeatedly copy-pastes (Ctrl+V), doubling the count each time until he reaches 120 pages — the first page plus blank pages. He then downloads the file as a PDF, ready to upload to KDP, and says he will link the finished file free in the description. He frames Slides as a powerful free tool especially for beginners or anyone whose computer cannot run Photoshop, noting he once had an old computer that could not run it.

Key takeaways

• Use free Google Slides in Google Drive to build a KDP interior if you cannot use Photoshop
• Set the size first: File > Page Setup > Custom, 6 x 9 inches in this example
• Make page 1 a centered ‘This book belongs to’ page with an underscore line, optionally adding your publisher name at the bottom
• Build blank pages fast by copy-pasting slides in doubling batches (Ctrl+V) instead of creating 120 pages one by one
• Export via Download as PDF — the resulting 120-page interior is ready to upload to KDP
