Merch By Amazon Terms Of Service TOS - (Human Tragedy Account Terminated)

About this video

Martinez warns sellers not to design ‘Free Palestine’ or other Palestine-related shirts tied to the ongoing conflict, saying profiting from a human tragedy violates Merch by Amazon’s Terms of Service and can get an account terminated or suspended. He stresses the same risk applies across print-on-demand platforms — Redbubble, Merch by Amazon, Etsy, Spreadshirt, and others — and that a design selling well is not evidence it is allowed. In Merch Informer he searches the keyword ‘Palestine’ and shows shirts whose BSRs are dropping sharply, including one listed since July 10, 2019 that has not been taken down, which he calls playing with fire. He addresses sellers who uploaded such a shirt before the current events, arguing the platform can still remove the design or the whole account without warning, and says this happened to his own Etsy account. His core advice is to always research what a design is about and who it is for, read each platform’s terms of service, and protect the account as a long-term asset that can fund other businesses rather than risking it for short-term sales — even, as he puts it, 50 or 100 sales a day from one shirt.

Key takeaways

• Do not make designs that profit from an ongoing human tragedy; Martinez says this violates Merch by Amazon’s Terms of Service and risks termination.
• A high-selling or long-listed violating design is not safe — enforcement can remove the design or account without warning.
• Terms-of-service risk applies across platforms: Merch by Amazon, Etsy, Redbubble, and Spreadshirt all count.
• Research what a design references and who it is for before uploading, not just its BSR and sales.
• Treat the account as a long-term investment and income asset worth more than short-term sales from one risky shirt.
