Best Ghostwriting Companies for Amazon KDP (2022 Update)

About this video

Sean ranks three ghostwriting companies for Amazon KDP. He says, as his own claim, he has published for six years, published over 200 books, used ghostwriting companies over 100 times and made well over seven figures from those books. His five criteria are: the company has been around for years, a proven track record, good customer support and communication (he warns some companies go silent for five to six months), high-quality writing, and continuous improvement. The Writing Summit has been around since he started in 2016, is a little cheaper than the other two, and offers Spanish translation at around $1.40 per 100 words, which he calls a very good price. The Hot Ghostwriter also has a long history and generally good quality, but he says quality has recently been hit or miss as it is flooded with orders, though its website update suggests it is improving its infrastructure. His favourite is The Urban Writers because it keeps improving and works like Upwork: you post a job for free, already-vetted writers apply, you can see samples and communicate with them, choose who to work with, and only pay once you find a writer and start, with order and task management in the platform.

Key takeaways

• Judge ghostwriting companies on longevity, track record, communication, writing quality and continuous improvement.
• The Writing Summit is the cheaper option noted, with Spanish translation around $1.40 per 100 words.
• The Hot Ghostwriter’s quality has become hit or miss, which Sean attributes to being flooded with orders.
• The Urban Writers is his top pick because its Upwork-style model lets you vet writers, see samples and choose before paying.
• Poor communication is a real risk — he says some companies have left him waiting five to six months for a book.
