The 3 Basic Combat Bo Blocks (and Sparring Drill)

Bojutsu - Combat Bo Staff defense and attack (Kumite)
Here I instruct a simple bojutsu based defense and counterattack. The purpose of this fighting drill is to learn the dynamics of parrying a straight thrust, regardless of what weapon is doing the thrust toward your midsection. This is "Bo Kata 1" from the yellow chevron level of Ultimate Bo. I was practicing outside today, and so thankful to see the sun, so I filmed myself doing the kata.
